It is important that the individual is commercially minded and able to work alongside the US President, to support driving and growing the business. The role will involve managing the US Finance team of 2 heads and developing the Finance team as the business continues our rapid growth trajectory.Organizational Alignment:-- Reports to the CEO-- Key stakeholders - US President and Senior Leadership team-- Other stakeholders - Project Managers, Pre-Sales Engineers and Stock controllerKey functional responsibilities:Management Reporting-- Provide leadership and direction to the Senior Management team, using reports and analysis to drive business decisions. -- Responsible for delivery of the monthly management accounts in a timely and accurate manner to the Group Finance function and US Management team, interpreting the results and providing the appropriate commentary to the management team and Group function.-- Identify and produce supporting monthly management information to support the management team in managing the business, Revenue and GP analysis, marketing tracker, IT cost analysis. -- Managing the US balance sheet, ensuring all balance reconciliations are completed by working day 10.Financial Reporting & Treasury-- Responsible for the year end audit for the US business complying with group requirements for a UK AIM listed PLC.-- Ensure all the state, statutory and business returns are completed in a timely manner.-- Manage the Treasury function within Group policy, including providing weekly cashflow forecasts to Group finance.-- Manage the Wells Fargo relationship.Forecasting, Planning & Commercial-- Own the US Budgeting process, supporting the US Leadership team, and reporting into the Group function in the UK. -- Alongside the CFO, develop and own the monthly forecasting process.-- Support the Sales team and the Pre-Sales Engineers with pricing analysis and review.Governance, Control and Processes-- Develop and drive engagement across the business for strong financial control.-- Responsible for driving the control framework in the US business. This includes managing segregation of duties within the Finance team, ensuring the US authority matrix and approvals is maintained and adhered to, using NetSuite and its controls as a governance tool and as the business grows identifying and recommending updates and changes required.-- Ensure NetSuite is used efficiently and effectively to control and manage projects.-- As the business is growing fast, lead the automation and improve efficiency of the US finance function to set them up to support the larger business.-- As a member of the Security Group, be responsible for driving Security awareness across the US business, including the education of employees, and identifying risks and proposing solutions to mitigate and manage risks in the US business.Other areas of responsibility-- Responsible for managing the bi-weekly payroll for all US employees. Ensuring payroll is input and approved in a timely manner for Insperity to complete the processing and payment.-- Calculating and managing the Commission payments to the Sales team.-- Responsible for the Income tax and state tax reporting requirements of the US entity, working closely with our tax advisors RSM.-- To support ad hoc requests from the CFO, US President and Group Finance team in the UK.What We're looking for: -- CPA with 5 years PQE plus a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.-- A technically sound accountant who can take full ownership of all accounting, tax, and payroll responsibilities.-- Proactive and able to influence and drive the US business forward and encourage an improvement in processes.-- Commercially minded, with strong analytical capability and able to understand the key business drivers.-- Ability to use own initiative and confidence to challenge and present own point of view concisely and effectively.-- Proactive, enthusiastic, personable, and energetic.-- Strong systems experience with NetSuite working knowledge advantageous. -- Strong communication skills, with ability to present data and information in a variety of methods to share recommendations and ideas in an effective manner.-- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business.* Strong people skills and able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels globally, both internally and externally.* Lead, motivate, challenge, and manage the team to deliver by demonstrating professionalism, energy, drive, and encouraging the best from everyone.-- Experience working for a telecommunications or technology company is highly preferred.
