Job Summary: The corporate accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining the general ledger, financial statements, and other records for various legal entities. This position also supports consolidated financial reporting and other compliance reporting matters. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and maintains financial statements, the general ledger, financial reports, and other records for various legal entities
• Posts journal entries and cash transactions to the general ledger and determines appropriate general ledger account coding
• Reconciles bank accounts and other general ledger accounts and maintains related documentation
• Processes vendor payments by coding to the appropriate general ledger account, verifying the necessary approvals and support and preparing check payments
• Assists with periodic financial reporting, economic census surveys, and other various compliance matters
• Provides internal and external audit support and coordination
• Supports various pension plan activities, including monthly asset reconciliation and invoice processing
• Performs other projects and tasks as assigned Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years of corporate accounting, public accounting, or related experience is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of general accounting functions and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and discretion
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently in a deadline focused environment
  • Dedicated, self-motivated, and well organized with the ability to prioritize
