Job Description:
This premium auditor will be responsible for conducting worker's
compensation insurance audits and may also be required to conduct
audits for other lines of insurance, such as general liability and
professional liability (a.k.a. errors and omissions).This position
may require conducting customer interviews over the phone to obtain
business operations, employee job duties, and other information
that could potentially affect premiums. Once the audit is complete,
you will process the audit by inputting the audited exposures into
a database. If the customer disputes the results of the audit, you
will then address the customer's concerns and ensure that the
customer was appropriately billed.Job Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze payroll, tax, and accounting records to
determine the appropriate premium base for a variety of insurance
lines, including worker's compensation, general liability, and
professional liability (a.k.a. errors and omissions)
- Obtain descriptions of business operations, employee job
duties, and other relevant information over the phone and through
email
- Determine if proper insurance classification codes have been
assigned to customer policies according to the state manuals and
suggest class code changes when appropriate
- Adjust premiums based on state manual rules, such as officer
wage adjustments, premium overtime credits, tip credits, etc.
- Complete audit worksheets using an Excel template and process
the audit findings in our database
- Provide superior customer service to the policyholders
throughout the audit process
- Resolve customer disputes regarding audit resultsRequired
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and has an aptitude to learn
other software applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with a high accuracy rate
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
- Ability to problem solve and use good judgment
- Strong reading comprehension skills to interpret and apply
manual rules
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Desire to continuously learnPreferred
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (finance, business,
accounting
- Previous related work experience (Worker's Compensation,
General Liability, and/or Professional Insurance)
