JOBSUMMARY Asa key member of the Global Customer Engagement Centers (CECs), the SeniorOperations Analyst will work with his/her group finance leader to assist with theareas of financial planning and analysis, accounting, auditing, budgeting andperiod-end reporting for both domestic and international reservation salesoffices within the Customer Engagement Center. Specific areas ofresponsibility may include managing center budgets and forecast models,managing financial analysis and reporting, providing financial support fordivision projects and business plans, directing the capital expenditures andperforming multi-entity allocations. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS Assistsin the coordination and development of the annual operating and capital budgetsfor the assigned CEC Offices. Overseesthe preparation and distribution of CEC's financial reports to brand managementand senior management. CompletesROI calculations and sensitivity analysis for various projects andproposals. This information is shared with the VP of Finance-CEC,the VP of CEC, and the General Managers of all CECs highlighting reservationsales office proficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Completesfinancial business cases identifying potential growth opportunities in variousmarkets both domestically and internationally. Providesad hoc analysis and recommendations to CEC finance and business leaders, andmarket leadership. Managescapital expenditures and provides quarterly reports to Marriott BusinessServices Fixed Assets. Prepares period end capital accountreconciliations to CEC leadership. Assistsin the facilitation of new CEC Centers by completing all Chartfield Maintenanceand Owner Franchise Billing accounting requirements. Ensures theallocations are setup properly in the general ledger system. Worksin conjunction with Corporate Tax, Corporate Legal, and Corporate Treasury andCorporate Statutory Accounting to facilitate entity inter-companyrelationships, transfer pricing procedures, commission mark-up percentages andestablishing local bank accounts (for CECs outside of the US). Conductsevaluations and financial analysis and prepares cost analyses related tovarious operations. Makes recommendations based upon this analysis. Auditsaccounts and accounting processes and makes recommendations to improve andstreamline processes and ensure appropriate controls are in place. Preparesperiod end and year-to-date account analysis reports for reservations salescenters. Preparesperiod end financial statements and billing account reconciliations. Specialprojects as assigned, including ad hoc requests for information and analysis onclosure ratio, booking trends, and impact to CEC due to global crises. Maintainsa strong knowledge of key business factors within all CEC Offices andidentifies areas of opportunity for cost reduction. Providesanalytical support for large, complex, cross-functional CEC relatedinitiatives. Provideson-going operational and business analysis support to senior leadership tosupport strategic decision making using appropriate approaches, systems andresources. Identifiesand surfaces best practices from existing environments and areas ofopportunities to increase profitability, reduce risks, and/or improveoperational efficiencies. Developsand maintains relationships with various CEC business leaders, immediatesupervisor, co-workers, market leadership and the general manager(s) of the CECoffices. Performscomplex quantitative and qualitative analysis for CEC business leaders.Responds to the more complex questions and problems with minimal guidance fromimmediate supervisor. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required: Bachelor'sdegree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting; or equivalent experience. Experience withMicrosoft Office for data analysis, presentations and memos Ableto work under limited supervision to solve problems and implement solutions Preferred: Knowledgeof Marriott and hospitality industry 4+ years experience in finance, accounting and/or lodging related discipline 4+ years experience in a multi-call center operations environment Consultingand project management skills highly valued Marriottsales, finance and/or operations analysis experience Experiencewith Microsoft office applications including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint Extensiveexperience in data gathering and analysis Skills and Knowledge Analytical/CriticalThinking - The ability to gather and organize information using alogical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complexdata; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriateconclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths,weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solvingproblems. Ability to question data for validity and obtain timelyclosure on related issues. TechnicalExpertise - Proficient ability to work with multiple relationaldatabases, understanding the logic and complexity of each one and applying thatlogic to create queries that can be used to manipulate large quantities ofdata. CustomerNeeds - Customer-service orientation includingevaluation/validation of requests and prompt follow-up. Economicsand Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles andpractices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling,and the reporting of financial data. Salesand Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing,promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategyand tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales controlsystems. Management Competencies Teamwork -Skilled at promoting a cohesive team environment. Ability to workboth independently and as part of an effective team. BuildingCredible Relationships - Demonstrates self-confidence and capable ofbuilding credibility among peers and senior management, including GRSCCbusiness leaders, immediate supervisor, market leadership and general managers. Skilled at clearly conveying information and ideas throughtelephonic media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retainthe message. Must be able to regularly communicate with and provideanalytical support to various business leaders and market leadership personnelon findings and analysis. May present findings and analysis to Sr. Leadership. Drivingfor Results - Skilled at setting goals for personal accomplishment;working tenaciously to meet or exceed those goals. Planningand Organizing - Skilled at establishing courses of action for selfand work teams to ensure work is completed efficiently.
