Job Description:

Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8-5. Occasional weekend or evening for go-live support Were searching for a Technical Trainer to design and deliver training to assigned end user community. This includes training new members of their user community and new functionality of their assigned technical applications. Essential Functions

  • Responsible for mastering Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other computer system applications along with the specific workflows of assigned application(s)
  • Develop and maintain technical training schedule and employee transcript, coordinating course offerings within operational needs and schedules
  • Effectively communicate to diverse groups and individuals through strong written, speaking and listening skills
  • Maintain a supportive learning environment that encourages interactivity and promotes the positive culture at Childrens
  • Facilitate end user training on the proper use of (EHR) applications and other computer systems in virtual or classroom settings using exceptional presentation skills
  • Apply adult learning principles to deliver a variety of training programs that achieve all aspects of the learning process
  • Discern technical abilities and learning styles of class participants, and adjust training delivery to accommodate all learners
  • Assess learners comprehension through end user proficiency assessments and workflow performance within the EHR system
  • Conduct post class follow-up with students and/or leadership to assess the effectiveness of all courses presented, making necessary changes when identified
  • Prepare, coordinate, and administer Credentialed Trainer (CT) program for EHR applications, as needed
  • Provide coaching and guidance to prospective CT candidates to promote their growth and development in the training role, while assessing their application knowledge as well as delivery techniques
  • Conduct training needs / job task analysis to develop technical training strategy to support Childrens IT Project Management Protocol when introducing new and upgraded hardware and software
  • Analyze and translate workflow and documentation requirements for clinical and/or business processes into efficient and effective application systems solutions through collaboration with members of inter-professional care teams, operational leaders, technical team members and other relevant stake holders
  • Leverage workflow and system build knowledge to develop, implement, maintain, and update training curriculum and environments for physicians and other end users (e.g., nurses, receptionists, CCPs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to develop training programs and objectives
  • Use adult learning principles and technical writing skills to plan, design, develop, validate, test, implement, evaluate, maintain and provide ongoing troubleshooting and support of EHR and other information system curriculum to fulfill training objectives and meet organizational needs and business requirements
  • Curriculum including: course materials, student handbooks, class activities, facilitator guides, handouts, scenarios, case studies, PowerPoint presentations, follow up guides, tip sheets, job aids, proficiency assessments, e-learnings, computer tutorials, etc
  • Participates in the design, build, and validation of EHR or other computer system applications with implementation resources to assure a thorough understanding of application functionality and workflow for optimal training development
  • Attains certification in the software used in training others and keeps certification up to date with new versions
  • Develop computer software and designated programming applications, designs, builds, tests and maintains the application training environment used in training classes to keep them in sync with the production system and training curriculum
  • Encourage the use and development of the EHR system functionality in an effort to optimize its full capacity
  • Promotes opportunities for continuous process improvement regarding workflow and system initiatives
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions specifically related to assigned EHR application(s)

  • Keeps calendar up to date and other communication current and accurate
  • Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Must be flexible and adaptable, have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, and able to work under pressure
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation, and listening skills required
    • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) proficiency required (Visio preferred)
    • Troubleshooting skills (equipment, computer systems, etc) required
    • Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills required
    • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
    • Ability to adapt to ever changing computer systems, resources, organization needs and learning requirements
    • Proven ability to master new computer applications quickly EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
      • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Adult Education or Medical Profession from an accredited college or university required
      • or - In lieu of Bachelors degree, candidate will have current licensure in a healthcare profession or an Associates degree along with a history of progressive responsibility in the field of Training, Healthcare, or Information Technology
      • Minimum of one year facilitation experience in computer software
      • EHR training experience a plus
      • Must have at least two of the following:
      • Experience working in the information technology working with training and system implementation; and/or healthcare field working with and supporting EHR systems strongly preferred
      • Experience with instructional content development and editing strongly preferred
      • Experience providing one on one, small group and large audience training, education, presentations strongly preferred
      • Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or other e-learning software experience preferred
      • CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
      • Epic Certification in assigned application(s) required within six months of hire date
      • Must maintain current certification status in assigned application(s) as new versions are implemented Special Job Requirements
        • A valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record/driving record required at time of appointment and maintained throughout tenure.
