BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid Options, and 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be focused on analyzing, operating, and engineering in a cloud first environment. In this position, you will be helping shape the future of BCBSNE cloud services. You will work collaboratively to deliver a multitude of capabilities to our business allowing them to better support our members of Nebraska. What you'll do:

• Create, troubleshoot, and maintain azure cloud computing solutions both in IaaS and PaaS.
• Automated deployments with ARM/Bicep templates.
• Support teams with CI/CD deployments and troubleshooting on any issues.
• Support on premises and cloud-based servers including certificate management, security configurations, patching, security vulnerability remediation and troubleshooting.
• Enterprise monitoring using various tools.
• Manages backups, installation, troubleshooting, and security monitoring/enhancements.
• Review the monthly investment of the Azure subscription for focus on optimizing costs and perform routine analysis to ensure cloud resources are appropriate.
• Helping with architecture and design decisions, including what Azure Services to use and their interactions.
• Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
• On-Call rotation
• Active participation in Community of practices To be considered for this position, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technology-related field; or comparable work experience.
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
  • Previous Azure Cloud Experience The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:
    • Previous experience in Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings
    • Solid experience with Git, branching & versioning
    • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline and automated deployments
    • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Experience in a hybrid cloud environment
    • Experience in scripting such as PowerShell/ CloudShell
    • Experience with PowerBI reporting
    • Experience with Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code
    • Experience with Linux administration (Red Hat/Centos preferred)
    • Experience with VMWare
