Automation / Engineering Be the expert teams rely on when systems have to work — every time. Cyclonaire is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to provide advanced electrical, instrumentation, and automation support for our automated process equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, leading commissioning efforts, and working directly with customers and field teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Cyclonaire systems are installed, commissioned, and supported at the highest level of quality and performance. What You’ll Do As an I&E Technician, you’ll serve as a technical leader and problem-solver across the full lifecycle of our equipment: Provide advanced electrical, instrumentation, and programming support for automated process equipment — in the field, in production, and remotely by phone Act as a technical lead during commissioning projects, supporting startups and system validation Deliver diagnostic assistance and technical direction to customers and service technicians Assist with electrical design and programming for new and existing equipment Execute PLC, HMI, and device-level programming across multiple control platforms Develop and maintain testing procedures, checklists, and commissioning documentation to ensure superior product quality Create high-quality user manuals, training materials, and technical documentation Perform mechanical troubleshooting and tuning in support of system performance and repairs Develop data collection and analysis tools to measure, validate, and document system performance Prepare comprehensive technical design packages, including panel layouts, line diagrams, component schedules, and cabling documentation What We’re Looking For This role requires a strong technical foundation and the confidence to lead troubleshooting efforts in real-world environments. Required Qualifications: Strong background in industrial automation, electrical systems, and instrumentation Prior experience providing plant-level electrical or electro-mechanical support Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Strong communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly Ability to work independently and serve as a technical lead when required Preferred Technical Experience: PLC, HMI, and controls programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, or similar platforms) Motor control circuits, VFDs, and industrial networking Strong mechatronic (electro-mechanical) skill set AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical experience Experience with platforms such as Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View / Optix, Siemens, Ewon, or similar Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR Associate degree in a technical field plus at least 5 years of related experience Equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience will be considered Work Environment & Travel Work performed in manufacturing, industrial, and field environments, both indoors and outdoors Exposure to varying temperatures, air quality, and work at heights may occur Frequent domestic and international travel required Why Cyclonaire Work on complex, custom automation systems — not cookie-cutter projects Be trusted as a technical authority in the field Strong emphasis on safety, quality, and doing the right thing Opportunity to make a visible impact on customer success and system performance
