Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership and
administration to Catholic Charities Microbusiness and Asset
Development Program. Establishes, leads, implements, maintains, and
monitors the daily operations and services of the Microbusiness
program. Provides direct services to clients according to
professional standards and provides professional supervision to
program staff. The program director plans the delivery of the
overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission
and the goals of the organization The Director represents Catholic
Charities in the neighborhood, the Archdiocese, and the community
at large, and manages the day-to-day operations of the program.
Essential Job Functions:
Leads, administers, and oversees all Catholic Charities'
Microbusiness Services; Ensures quality and compliance with all
regulatory requirements, standards, and agency policies and
Hires, trains, and leads employees; Plans, assigns and provides
direction to staff; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines
employees as needed.
Provides direction, guidance, and leadership in the development,
implementation, and monitoring of service provision, expansion, and
community engagement. Assesses changing needs regarding
Microbusiness training and oversees curriculum and student
participation. Oversees all loan activities. Identifies new
programming and training needs to provide additional opportunities
for clients and communities.
Provides overall management of the Microbusiness budget, including
monitoring funding sources and expenses, program funding including
fee generation, grant writing/execution and reporting to all
Conducts community outreach, working with organizations and
neighborhood groups to identify community and program needs and
provides leadership in addressing those needs. Maintains working
relationships with related groups, including CCUSA, NBDC, OSBN,
REAP, SBA, and lending institutions.

RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent bilingual Spanish and English verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Ability to analyze and summarize data and develop comprehensive
Understanding of adult learning and ability to effectively teach
individuals and groups.
Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and
Up-to-date working knowledge of small business management
(including financial management) and self-employment issues,
including requirements at the local, state and federal level.
Required of All Positions:
Knowledge and support of Catholic Charities' purpose, mission,
vision, values, and ethical standards.
Knowledge and support of the Catholic Charities Compliance Program
requirements including - but not limited to - the Code of Ethics,
the Compliance Policy, and all relevant compliance procedures.
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the service population's
cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Education and Experience
2-4 years supervisory/managerial experience.
3-5 years of experience in the business/ microbusiness field or
social services is required.
Small business or self-employment experience desirable.
4 year college degree
Licensure, Certifications, and other Designations:
Certified Personal Financial Counselor or the ability to obtain
certification within 1 year of employment.
CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within first 3
months of employment.
