Job Description:

The Sr. Development Director is a key role in driving the successful attainment of strategic development goals by driving the fundraising strategy for Habitat Omaha. Responsibilities include cultivation, engagement, solicitation and stewardship of the donor base and prospective donors to achieve or exceed fundraising goals. Leads development team efforts in individual gifts, coalition groups, planned and individual gifts to maximize relationships and total gift revenue. The Sr. Development Director; Individual Giving reports to the Chief Development Officer.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship of prospective donors;
Manages a portfolio of 125-150 donors and prospective donors who are capable of making gifts at $25k+;
Designs, manages and implements planned giving program;
Assists in short- and long-range strategic planning activities to create and implement fund-raising goals and objectives;
Conducts research to identify prospective donors and creates strategies to match donors' interests to the priorities of Habitat Omaha;
Contributes to the development of fundraising methods or activities to ensure proper acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship of donors;
Participates in developing campaign materials, case statements, and brochures; works in collaboration to prepare reports and prospect research materials;
Makes effective use of Habitat Omaha's prospect management database and other resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects, and volunteers in coordination with organization's objectives;
Supervises a team of three members;
Performs other duties as needed

Development Associate - Individual Giving; Phon-a-thon Coordinator; Development Associate - - - Faith Relations

EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 7+ years of experience in development, sales, or related field;
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience;
Demonstrated leadership, relationship building, collaboration and team building skills;
Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills;
Goal-oriented, flexible, professional, and outgoing;
Self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and cooperatively; proven success working as a member of a team;
Possess strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to multi-task and maintain high level of attention to detail;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and fundraising database, Every Action. Plus proficiency in desktop publishing;
Ability to meet deadlines and work under tight scheduling and competing priorities;
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of -Habitat donor information;
Must have compassion for people of all backgrounds and a desire to end substandard housing;
Exceptional interpersonal skills in a variety of social and professional environments;
Ability to work some nights/weekends as needed;
