Primary Function
As a Digital Art Director you will work in a team environment to
create visual experiences that delight clients while achieving
business goals. You will be responsible for interactive projects
from concept through execution across all digital platforms with a
primary focus on, websites, video, online advertising and social.
Specializing in Motion Graphics, you will be responsible for
conceptualizing and collaborating with the team to create
storyboards, animatics and motion studies that will ultimately
translate to video-based motion graphics. Your animations will have
a fresh perspective on data/process visualization as well as simple
character animations.
In this role you will be collaborating with writers, developers,
technologists, art buyers and account leads, as well as other art
directors. Your goal will be to deliver solid digital solutions for
products and services across many lines of business in the banking
industry and over time you will understand the products and
services as a subject matter expert. You respect brand positioning
and can determine when it is appropriate to push the limits to
improve the customer experience. You love what you do and enjoy
being in a team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Own projects start to finish as a lead designer across a variety of
mediums that have a focus on motion graphics and video -
participate in client kickoff, conceptualize/ideate and collaborate
on communications solutions, collaborate with writers, wireframe
ideas, work ideas through the full design and agency process, and
take the design through final client delivery
Interpret and implement the brand expression and create solutions
that elevate the brand experience
Ability to understand target audience's needs and behaviors while
incorporating best practices and channel knowledge to promote
advanced solutions for the user experience that will drive
results
Field technical client questions and follow up with client
education on existing and new digital technologies
Build strong collaborative relationships with a diverse agency team
as well as segment, channel and brand partners.
Push your craft, continuously improve your skillset, and lead
innovation and fresh approaches in concepting through design
execution
Share your ideas and demonstrate clear thinking. Communicate what
the client experience will be, direct information architecture,
workflows and interdependencies through schematics and design
development
Actively participate in design meetings and critiques, ensuring
adherence to standards while keeping an eye out for improvements or
reasonable exceptions
Embrace working in an office while collaborating with teammates and
partners in other locations
Skills & Qualifications
Strong online portfolio showcasing motion and web designs with role
descriptions
Self-starting, proactive, collaborative, seeker of opportunities in
the work
An organized, buttoned-up, professional approach to executing
work
Excellent verbal and written communication
A collaborative team player
Passion for technology, industry awareness, and ongoing
evolution
Solid knowledge of social media platforms and design standards
Have an understanding and proficiency in accessibility design and
standards for the web such as WCAG 2.1 (Wen Content Accessibility
Guidelines), Web Content, Users Agents Authoring Tools, Operable
UI, Nav, ect.
Work on Mac (primarily) and Windows PC for testing.
Proficiency in After Effects, Premiere, Animate, Photoshop,
Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Sketch
Experience in Cinema 4D a plus
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
7-10 years of experience as a digital or interactive designer in an
industry or with an agency
