Position Type: RegularScheduled Hours per 2 week Pay Period: 80Primary Location: AR > LITTLE ROCK > ST VINCENT INFIRMARY JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Outcomes Coordinator in the Quality Management Department utilizes clinical and analytical skills to facilitate monitoring and improvement of organizational process. This position provides leadership and guidance for National Quality Initiatives and serves as a resource for clinical staff. The role includes coordination and implementation or processes to promote quality, safety and efficient use of hospital resources. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. LEADERSHIP- Facilitates measurement and improvement activities for systems, state and national initiatives such as IHI, Core Measures, and National Quality Forum.-Promotes collaboration, decision making and problem resolution through effective interactions or facilitation with members of the hospital organization.- Monitors and aggregates hospitals performance relative to benchmarks to determine areas of needs and focus.-Supports the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols to eliminate unnecessary tasks and standardization of processes.- Reviews, evaluates, interprets and develops reports and provides end-user assistance, involving analysis, identification of problem needs, designing solutions, and identifying required system adaptations. - Analyzes barriers to change and invests tie and creativity in the innovators, early adoption on concepts and disease management champions. -Motivates and inspires others to high performance by exercising strong stewardship to CHI St. Vincent resources, setting expectations, and measuring success to drive organization results.2. TEACHING-Promote performance improvement principles throughout the organization as a CAP and Work-Out trained facilitator.-Demonstrates knowledge in area of teaching and available resources for staff education.-Identifies and implements educational opportunities for the staff.3. COLLABORATION-Collaborates in the development of short and long-term strategies and care including measurement, analysis and reporting of data used in achieving goals as identified in the CHI St Vincent strategic plan.-Participates and assists with communication between CHI St. Vincent and selected agencies (e.g., AFMC, State Health regarding the Skilled Nursing Unit, CMS) as they relate to Performance Improvement initiatives. -Participates in collaborative policy development designed to aid in improving patient care.4. UNIT SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES-Possesses knowledge of the quality management database (CareScience) and can use this system to provide reports on request and to support decision making. -Acts as a departmental representative on Service Line teams, Patient Safety and other interdisciplinary committees which involve hospital policy issues surrounding performance improvement, decision support and utilization of hospital resources. -Manages grant programs as assigned and works with community / state leaders to provide educational opportunities for a variety of healthcare professionals.-Meets all unit specific yearly skill requirements within the acceptable time frame.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's or Master's preferred, Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of ArkansasExperience: 2-5 years experience in healthcare outcomes and performance improvement initiatives/techniques.Physical Requirements: This job requires occasional standing/walking, sitting, and reaching overhead. Minimal squatting, twisting, bending, reaching forward, and repetitive actions.Skills: Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
