• Academic Oncologist with specialization in gastroenterology/Rank DOQ U Academic Oncologist with specialization in gastroenterology/Rank DOQ University of Nebraska Medical Center UNMC Description GI MALIGNANCY FACULTY OPPORTUNITY The Division of Oncology/Hematology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking to recruit a GI malignancy physician. Clinicians interested in this position must be board certified in internal medicine, be board certified/eligible in medical oncology and/or hematology and possess a strong background in both clinical and translational research. Candidates should be devoted to clinical care and clinical investigation within the area of GI oncology. This position may be J-1 eligible. Responsibilities will involve participation in multidisciplinary patient care teams, inpatient treatment, outpatient care, clinical trials and opportunities for collaboration for investigator initiated clinical research and grants. The teaching of GI specialization to fellows, residents and medical students is required as well. UNMC--------s Oncology/Hematology Division is a component of the NCI-Designated Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center which is a matrix cancer center with collaboration of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. The new state-of-the-art 615,000 square foot cancer facility, which opened in May 2017, is designed to allow science, medicine and healing to share not just a common space, but also a common goal. The facility includes 98 labs dedicated to cancer research, 108 inpatient beds as well as a multidisciplinary outpatient area for physicians, clinics, infusion, radiation oncology, surgery, radiology, pharmacology and collaborative treatment/diagnostics.
