As a Senior Director of Development, you will play a critical role in providing leadership and delivery of a comprehensive development strategy for the UNMC clinical team. You will build a robust community of philanthropic support by partnering with physician leadership and their care teams. You will have the opportunity to lead and grow a dynamic gratitude program, inviting grateful patients, families, and community members to include Nebraska Medicine in their philanthropic priorities. You will be responsible for planning and implementing major gift fundraising, including coaching, and mentoring a team, strategic planning and execution for long term success, identification and cultivation of major gift prospects, solicitation of gifts, and more. This is an opportunity to build relationships with health system leaders while collaborating with other University of Nebraska Foundation teams to benefit UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. Who we want:

    • Dynamic leaders who inspire, invest and coach others to success. What you need:
      • A minimum of seven years of progressive major gift experience in a higher education and/or hospital/health science fundraising environment, with at least three of these years demonstrating leadership of development professionals and support staff. Strong preference for hospital-based fundraising experience is desired.
      • Experience with grateful patient and family fundraising, especially partnering with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals is preferred.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Demonstrated success in the solicitation of major gifts.
      • Ability to effectively coordinate and manage a variety of projects and programs simultaneously.
      • Discretion in handling confidential matters.
