As a Clinic Supervisor for Same Day Pediatrics, you will help support exceptional care for patients across the community. The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for supervising nursing care activities in the ambulatory care clinic, while creating a customer-focused environment for patients, families, and providers.Primary Location: Pacific St. Medical CampusFlexible Schedule: 32-40 hours a week,Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with staff, acting as an expert role model to improve the quality of patient care and patient outcomes as well as advance the state of nursing practice at BTNRH. Facilitates the development and implementation of Standards of Patient Care in collaboration with the Director, Specialty Clinics and/or the Director of Pediatric Clinic's, medical staff and nursing staff.
  • Performs as the contact person for the Director, Specialty Clinics and/or the Director of Pediatric Clinic's, and will assist with administrative over site of clinic nursing duties.
  • Delegates patient care, nursing responsibilities/tasks equally among the nursing staff. Assesses personal workload and adjusts priorities to help others. Supervises daily activities of the clinic nursing staff. Responsible for staffing in the Specialty and/or Pediatric Clinics to meet the needs of the clinic while controlling cost.
  • Performs direct patient care duties to include obtaining and recording health history and other medical information, administering medications, completing ordered testing and assisting the physician in examination and treatment. Provides scheduling assistance and instructions for patients in regards to hospital admission, diagnostic testing, therapies and medical consultations.
  • Screens and prioritizes patient phone calls, providing information/recommendations or referring call to MD as appropriate.
  • Acts as liaison between the nursing staff, MD's, Clinic Director's and other clinic and hospital staff. Actively fosters teamwork in achieving mission. Solves complex problems relating to team performance and duties. Responds effectively to crises and unplanned events, keeping focused on solution to crises.
  • Participates in supervision of clinic nursing and float nursing staff by performing annual evaluations, performs monthly nurse meetings, assisting with coordinating orientation, and providing staff with input as needed on an ongoing basis. Assures staff compliance with applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and implements cost containment measures as appropriate in area of practice. Provides input into clinic capital budget, maintains clinic credit card, performs monthly allocations, and maintains nursing staff time sheets. Will review nursing staff hours and adjust and/or consult nurses regarding discrepancies.
  • Anticipates, identifies and assesses the educational needs of nursing staff, in their specialty area. Provides for formal and informal educational opportunities of the nursing staff.
  • Anticipates, identifies and assesses the educational needs of patients and their families in their specialty area. Provides/recommends formal and informal educational opportunities for the patients and their families.
  • Assists in facilitating the educational process of residents, medical students, and nursing students in specialty area.
  • Provides leadership in the assessment, development, and implementation of policies and procedures that are directly and indirectly related to the area of specialty.
  • Assures provision of excellent customer service and provides follow up for service failures.
  • Conducts or oversees medical documentation audits to include adherence to internal and external charting guidelines that have been adopted by Boys Town. Establish and institute corrective action for areas of weakness identified in audits.Required Qualifications:
    • A registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school with a current state license, required
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a medical office setting
    • Previous management experience preferred
    • Must be CPR certified
