Job Description:

Performs receptionist, certified nursing assistant (CNA), and supply management duties in the schools.Responsibilities: Performs receptionist duties including directing visitors , students and staff; answering incoming phone calls and questions from visitors; assists school administration with student health; utilizes strong customer service skills. Performs administrative duties as directed:

  • Responsible for scanning student health charts as directed by Health Information Management.
  • Approves open and closed electronic medical record documents.
  • Serves as a liaison between the school and physicians office to obtain documents for student school-related health records and coordinate schedules.
  • Assists with incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs of office equipment (i.e. copier, fax, etc) and maintaining office supplies.
  • Organizes and stocks nursing station and office areas as needed.
  • Maintains a working relationship with BTNRH Dietary Specialist.
  • Performs point-of-care testing.
  • Performs EKGs as indicated.
  • Utilizes CNA skills to assist the school admin/school nurse with student and staff care, obtaining vital signs , and performing routine screenings as directed.
  • Assists with collecting and returning student medications.
  • Administers and tracks medication distribution to students.
  • Communicates with the family homes to ensure medications are refilled and brought to school.
  • Follows policy and procedures and assists in school responsibilities .
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Provides students and staff with support and education according to the population served. Skills:
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with PHI and other sensitive information.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with members across all areas of the organization.
    • Embodies the family-friendly work environment culture at Boys Town.
    • Ability to apply strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to effectively use a computer, office equipment (copier, scanner), and other equipment required to complete daily tasks.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in high-stress, high volume environments. Required Qualifications:
      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • CNA certification required.
      • BLS certification required.
      • Experience utilizing multiple computer systems (e.g. Microsoft, Electronic Health Record) required. Preferred Qualifications:
