qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68122! Pay

Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU

Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must not
be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any associated
facility. - Driver's license required for submission. - RN's must
pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of
90%. Description: The position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The
nurse will care for patients with common diagnoses such as COPD,
pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neuro conditions.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:2, with downgrades staffing at 1:5
for medical patients and 1:4 for PCU. The nurse is required to
titrate certain drips, including vasopressors, insulin, TNK,
heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives. A charge nurse will be
present on each shift and will take an assignment. Nurse aides or
patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1 tech until
there are 20 patients, and then 2 techs up to 24 patients. There is
24/7 critical care coverage by hospitalists or intensivists in the
ICU. An E-ICU is staffed with a nurse and an APRN around the clock.
RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is not allowed; a unit scheduler will handle
scheduling. Weekend requirements are every other weekend and
holiday requirements vary based on unit needs. Floating to PCU and
medical floors is expected. Dress code is navy blue scrubs. RTO
needed upfront is 7 days or fewer for the 13-week contract.
Additional time off will not be approved after submissions. The
facility allows for cancellation of up to 4 shifts during the
13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. This position
requires a BSN for submission. The care setting is acute. The
