November 10, 2025 Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active
Registered Nurse (RN) license – Nebraska or compact state - BLS
(Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift -
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
prior to first shift - Minimum 1 year of recent clinical bedside
experience as a Med/Surg RN (2 years preferred) - Experience in
medical-surgical nursing or related specialties highly desired
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive nursing
assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission - Develop
and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with
patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams -
Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient
responses in the electronic medical record - Participate in patient
rehabilitation programs and discharge planning to ensure optimal
patient outcomes - Communicate changes in patient status to
physicians and care team members to maintain patient safety and
continuity of care - Supervise and provide direction to Licensed
Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and
new staff or orientees - Promote patient and employee safety by
adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety
procedures - Foster a positive team environment and participate in
unit team-building activities - Assume charge nurse
responsibilities as requested after orientation - Engage in ongoing
professional development and continuing education to stay current
