Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift Schedule: 3x12-hour
shifts Guaranteed Hours:36 Contract Length: 13 weeks Short
Description: The RN ensures the delivery of high-quality patient
care by following individualized nursing care plans. Supervises
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants
(CNAs), and orientees. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Nursing
Competencies: - Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of
patient admission. - Develops individualized plans of care based on
assessments. - Identifies patient teaching needs and goals;
collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary
team. - Participates in rehabilitation programs; implements care
using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate). -
Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from day of
admission. - Communicates patient status changes to care providers
to ensure continuity and safety. - Maintains accurate, timely, and
complete documentation of all patient interactions. Leadership &
Supervision: - Provides direction, training, and supervision to
ancillary nursing personnel. - Delegates appropriately and supports
problem-solving in clinical decision-making. - Assumes charge
responsibility as requested after orientation. Safety &
Environment: - Promotes patient and employee safety; emphasizes the
“10 Foot Circle of Safety.” - Follows all hospital safety policies
and procedures, including safe patient handling and infection
control. - Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Team & Organizational Contribution: - Communicates service needs
(supplies, equipment, training) to management. - Participates in
team-building and fosters a positive work environment. - Provides
cost-effective care while monitoring supplies and charges.
Professional Development: - Actively pursues continuing education
and self-study. - Prioritizes tasks and staff effectively to meet
patient care needs. - Performs additional duties as requested.
Requirements & Qualifications: - Certifications: - BLS (required) -
ACLS (required) - Experience: Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical
experience (highly desired) Behavioral Characteristics: -
Demonstrates calm leadership, effective communication, and
teamwork. - Encourages positive patient and staff interactions. -
Upholds high standards of personal appearance, attendance, and
