Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Omaha, Nebraska,

Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Intro to Fetal Monitoring
Must-Have: Ability to circulate in the operating room; competency
in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care; willingness to
float to postpartum. Description: This position requires nurses to
ensure effective care in a labor and delivery setting. The unit
consists of labor rooms and antepartum rooms. The facility operates
several operating suites for C-sections. There is a triage unit for
assessing patients with pregnancy complaints. The unit handles a
high volume of births each month. Staff-to-patient ratios follow
established guidelines. Common patient diagnoses include high-risk
obstetric cases and routine care. Registered nurses are responsible
for titrating specific medications. A charge nurse is available on
each shift, but also takes on patient assignments. Support staff is
present to assist with various duties. Healthcare professionals,
including specialists, are on-site 24/7. Registered nurses may need
to troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment. There is
telemonitoring available in specific areas following procedures.
Shift scheduling includes consecutive night shifts. Weekend and
holiday work is required on a rotating basis. The dress code
includes surgical scrubs. Successful candidates will exhibit
teamwork, a positive attitude, and flexibility. Additional time off
requests are limited and must be communicated upfront.
Cancellations may occur, and there are guidelines for shift
cancellations. Charting will be done using a specific electronic
health record system. A BSN is required for this position. 5
