Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Omaha, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,548 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 20 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124! Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must be able to circulate in the operating room. Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care is required. Ability to float to Postpartum as needed, which includes care of both the infant and the mother. Description: The Labor and Delivery unit consists of 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms. The unit has 3 operating room suites designated for C-sections. There is a 7-bed triage unit available for assessing patients who are greater than 20 weeks pregnant with complaints. The unit contains 36 postpartum beds and experiences up to 400 births per month. The nurse-to-patient ratio follows industry guidelines: 1:1-2 for labors and 1:2-3 for antepartum patients. Nurses are required to titrate intravenous drips, including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications. A Charge Nurse is present on both shifts, and they do take patient assignments. There are two obstetrical technicians per shift to assist with duties. An obstetrician and neonatologist are available 24/7 in the unit. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists are also present on the unit around-the-clock. Respiratory therapists provide equipment support such as nasal cannula. Telemetry monitoring is conducted in recovery following C-sections. The electronic fetal monitoring system used is Obix. Shifts run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. There is a weekend requirement of every third weekend, which may increase based on unit needs. Holidays require working a major and a minor holiday. Floating to Postpartum and occasional duties as a sitter may be required. Surgical scrubs are provided as part of the dress code. Expect to complete 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation. Successful candidates will demonstrate teamwork, a positive attitude, flexibility, eagerness to learn, openness to new challenges, and professionalism. Please note, candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated healthcare entities. Time off requests are limited to 7 days or less for the duration of the contract. Cancellations may occur for up to four shifts during the contract period.
