CloseDepartment Notes:10 bed inpatient locked unit. Patient
population is 55 years and older and may have dementia or need a
medication adjustment. Patients are on this unit to regulate
medications, but they will also have other co-morbidities such as
using oxygen, ect. Average patient stay is 10-14 days and
discharged home or to LTC. Team consists of RNs, CNAs, Social
Workers, and Recreational Therapist.Misc Notes:RN should have
previous experience working in a Behavioral Health unit and
familiar with medication management. Previous experience working on
a locked unit, experience with emergency medications, and ability
to determine if patient is agitated or showing aggression. BLS
required. CPI or MOAB preferred. CCH does offer MOAB at no cost to
traveler and class is held once per month. Will not float to other
departments. HCPs are required to take MOAB if they don t already
have CPI or MOAB. The cost is $150.CPI certification refers to
training provided by the Crisis Prevention Institute, which teaches
safe, evidence-based methods for preventing and de-escalating
challenging or aggressive behaviors especially in healthcare,
education, behavioral health, and human-services settings.MOAB
certification refers to training provided by the MOAB Training
International and stands for Management of Aggressive Behavior. It
is a professional program that teaches staff how to prevent,
recognize, and safely respond to escalating or aggressive behavior
in a wide range of environments healthcare, schools, security,
customer service, and public-facing roles.Schedule: 12 hour shifts,
working 7:00am-7:30pm, or 7:00pm-7:30am, 36 hours per week
guaranteed. Scrubs: Any color permitted. Scrubs should not contain
names of other healthcare facilities. Orientation: Flexibility to
start assignment any day of the week. Will complete a brief
hospital orientation to obtain badge and review hospital policies
and procedures, then will go to the unit for orientation. The unit
will check RN off on competencies and orientation will be based on
each individual traveler s needs. Guaranteed Hours: 36 Contract
