years of prior experience required in a large urban hospital
License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: BLS,
ACLS required; NIH and CPI preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of
experience in a Level 1 Academic Medical Center preferred - EPIC
charting experience required - Ability to float to meet the
facility's staffing needs Description: This is a 49-bed specialty
medical/surgical unit that is fast-paced. The unit provides growth
in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of
cardiovascular patients. Staff will care for specialty patients
such as stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist
Devices. Ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Night
ratios can occasionally be 1:7, though rare. RNs must be prepared
to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Travelers are first to
float as needed within the scope of care. All travelers are
expected to manage drips and requires competency in telemetry
monitoring. Must adhere to infection control protocols and
demonstrate risk management skills. Requires management of various
drips and blood product administration along with central line
care/management. Ongoing education and training will be provided to
enhance care delivery skills. There are 4 weekend shifts required
out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Holiday requirements include
working 2 out of 3 major holidays. Nursing staff must maintain a
