Ideal for nurses searching for Omaha nursing jobs or Nebraska PICU jobs./n /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Omaha, NE 68114/n - Unit: Cardiac ICU (CVPICU), 32 beds – Pediatric Cardiac ICU / PICU/n - Job Title / Role: PICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Pediatric ICU RN – Night Shift/n - Shift: Night, 4 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)/n - Weekly Hours: 36/n - Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 3/23/2026 – End: 6/22/2026)/n - Typical Patient Ratio: 1:2/n - Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics (post-op cardiac, congenital heart disease, transplants)/n - Weekend Coverage: Required (3 out of 6 weekends per contract)/n - Orientation: 36 hours/n - Travel Nurses: First-time travelers welcome — ideal for travel nurse PICU opportunities/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250 - $2370/week/n /n/nQualifications / Job Requirements/n /n - Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience required (Pediatric Cardiac ICU, CVPICU)/n - Current and valid RN license (state of practice)/n - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS/n - Experience or exposure to ECMO & CRRT preferred/n - Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, post-cardiac surgery care, and ventilator management/n - Comfortable with invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, arterial, RA) and advanced cardiac support/n - Ability to float to PICU, NICU, and Med/Surg as needed/n - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)/n /n/nResponsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-op open hearts, single ventricles, heart transplants, and heart failure/n - Perform and manage invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA) and interpret hemodynamic data/n - Administer and titrate vasopressors, inotropes, cardiac and sedation drips/n - Provide care for patients on ECMO and CRRT in collaboration with specialized teams/n - Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and acute airways; interpret arterial blood gases/n - Manage chest tubes, central lines, and PICC lines; perform advanced pediatric assessments/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, physical therapy, and physicians to ensure coordinated care/n - Float to other units (PICU, NICU, Med/Surg) as needed to support patient care and unit staffing/n /n/n /n Ready to advance your career in pediatric critical care?
