qualifications will not be considered. A top medical center in
Eastern Nebraska is seeking skilled Stepdown RNs for a 13-week
contract opportunity in Papillion, NE. This role focuses on
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing with patients primarily in
oncology and trauma care. Candidates will work 36 hours per week on
12-hour shifts, engaging with a diverse patient population across
oncology PCU, trauma PCU, and med/surg units. Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a 28-bed PCU and
med/surg setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in PCU and
1:5 in med/surg. Administer and titrate medications including
chemotherapy, insulin, Cardizem, heparin, and others as prescribed.
Utilize ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring devices such as CVP,
arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and EV-1000. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT, case managers, social
workers, and dieticians. Perform hourly rounding to enhance patient
experience and safety. Adhere to strict fingernail policies and
facility-specific protocols including passing a critical nursing
skills exam during orientation. Qualifications / Desired
Experience: Current RN license with at least 1 year of PCU or
oncology nursing experience; chemotherapy certification preferred
but not required. BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory; NIHSS
certification required. Ability to titrate drips and manage
advanced monitoring equipment. Experience with EPIC EMR or similar
is a plus but not mandatory. Must pass a Friday orientation exam
with a 90% or higher to continue. Valid drivers license required
with residency within 50 miles radius from the facility. Candidates
cannot hold concurrent employment with any affiliated health
systems. Shift Details: 12-hour shifts with scheduling flexibility
(7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a). Weekend work every other
weekend. Navy blue scrubs required. Charge nurse and nursing
assistant support available. This contract offers a focused,
