Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Deliver specialized nursing care in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Omaha, NE. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with adult patients experiencing mixed medical/surgical conditions, including cardiac and stroke cases, in a 28-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Nurses will manage titratable drips such as heparin, octreotide, and insulin and collaborate closely with charge nurses, nurse aides, and tele/monitor technicians. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients admitted primarily through the ER. - Titrate drips and administer scheduled IV medications in accordance with protocols. - Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges. - Adhere to facility policies including the fingernail policy and dress code (navy blue scrubs). - Participate in float assignments to Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department as needed. - Successfully complete an open book Pass/Fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%. Qualifications & Required Certifications: - Current RN license with experience in step-down or progressive care nursing. - Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. - Valid drivers license with residence within a 50-mile radius of Omaha, NE. - Ability to read and interpret tele/monitor data. - Compliance with artificial nail prohibition policy. - Not currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with CommonSpirit Health affiliates. Schedule Details: - Shifts available: 06:30-19:00 and 18:30-07:00 on a six-week rotating schedule. - Weekend commitment every other weekend; holiday rotation with permanent staff. - Orientation includes one week of classroom training plus two 12-hour clinical shifts.
