Job Description:

This locum CV Anesthesiology position involves providing specialized anesthesia care for cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart cases in a high-acuity academic setting. The role requires TEE certification and strong cardiovascular experience, with additional support in general OR cases as needed. Providers will work hands-on with a collaborative surgical team in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Dates/Schedule

• Start: ASAP (preferred)
• Duration: Ongoing through December 2026
• Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 10 hour shifts
• Call: Unrestricted overnight and weekend call required
• Average callback: 2 3 hours (weekdays), 1 2 hours (weekends)
• Bid Due Date: May 8, 2026 (5 PM EST)

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart procedures
• Perform and interpret TEE (transesophageal echocardiography)
• Assist with general OR cases as needed
• Work in a 187-bed Level 1 Trauma and academic center with 15 ORs and multiple specialty suites
• Manage adult and geriatric patients (no pediatrics)
• Collaborate with 2 cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Handle approximately cardiac cases annually
• Supervise CRNAs when required
• Use EPIC EMR for documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology and TEE (REQUIRED)
• TEE certification with testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography (REQUIRED)
• Completion of ACGME-accredited (or equivalent) CV Anesthesia fellowship (REQUIRED; or 5+ years CV experience if fellowship not available)
• Nebraska license or IMLC (HIGHLY PREFERRED; willing to consider candidates needing licensure)
• Clean malpractice/background (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
• NPDB self-query report dated within 30 days (REQUIRED)
• Ability to cover cardiac and general OR cases and take unrestricted call (REQUIRED)
• Credentialing timeframe: days
