This locum anesthesiology opportunity is a hospital-based weekend coverage role focused on independent anesthesia care across a broad surgical case mix. The position is driven by staffing shortages and requires a board-certified physician comfortable managing diverse inpatient and outpatient procedures, including orthopedic, OB, spine, GI, and interventional cases. This is an ongoing need with recurring weekly coverage and call responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced anesthesiologist seeking consistent weekend assignments.

Dates / Schedule

• Bid Due Date: 05/04/2026 by 5:00 PM EST
• Start Date: ASAP, June start and ongoing
• Weekly Coverage Needed:
  • Friday: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM (24 hours)
  • Sunday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM (24 hours)
• Setting: Hospital-based, covering both inpatient and outpatient surgeries
  
• Credentialing Timeframe: Within 60 days

Job Details / Responsibilities

• Provide independent anesthesia coverage for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Manage anesthesia for:
  • Orthopedics
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Spine surgery
  • GI procedures
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • Cath Lab
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Bariatric bypass
  • Minimal vascular cases
• Support approximately 3,600 IP/OP surgeries annually
• Work with anesthesia providers, CRNAs, and anesthesia techs
• Use EPIC EMR for patient documentation and workflow
• Provide pager call coverage with callback responsibilities as needed
• Coverage required due to staffing shortage

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
• Residency/Fellowship training required
• Nebraska license highly preferred; IMLC or willingness to obtain NE license accepted
• BLS certification required
• DEA certification required
• Clean malpractice history highly preferred
• Availability at time of name clear required
• Self-Query NPDB report within 30 days of presentation required
• Must be comfortable independently handling a broad range of surgical anesthesia cases across multiple specialties
