Job Description:

Job Summary:--Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee payroll records including a variety of routine office/clerical duties such as filing and coding. Responsible for computing wages, overtime payments, calculating, and recording payroll deductions. Performs complex administrative duties in health insurance, group life, dental, vision, limited plans, LTD, STD, HSA, Flex benefit plans, 401k and section 125 plans. Works with internal staff and clients to obtain all necessary information in successful processing of payroll and benefits. This position is considered to be high-volume, deadline driven, and detail oriented. Equally, to be Reliable, Collaborative, Hard Working, Friendly, and Professional. The most qualified candidate will have a calm demeanor and act the best under pressure. Role and Responsibilities1.------------Responsible for providing payroll and benefits support to a diverse range of clients while adhering to the Core Values and Mission statement of The Alliance Group.-- 2.------------Payroll: Maintains front line communication with clients; collect timesheets as necessary and verify accuracy; gather employment status change information, process updates in payroll system, as well as maintain information in employee personnel files; review discrepancies in data received; request clarification and/or advise supervisor of issues as related. Responsibilities include (not limited to): Gather employment and payroll related information from clients, process payroll according to client specifications and in accordance with federal and state laws; review and verify current payroll audits against previous payroll audits for discrepancies; arrange for special checks, such as bonus, advance, and/or vacation pay as required; field general questions on payroll data and deductions, distribute payroll checks; review invoice charges to client for proper billing; knowledge of W-2 preparation and related year-end reports. 3.------------Benefits: Ability to administer 401k plans in the set-up, maintenance, and familiar with year-end compliance and reporting; administer, process, and send notifications related to COBRA; process State Continuation notices; process HSA account set-up(s); process benefit plan set-up for new clients and at benefit renewal; ensure forward communication related to benefits changes, credits, arrears, in addition, processing carrier additions, terms, and/or changes for clients. During client onboarding, responsible in the audit of elections against deductions process. 4.------------Partner with The Alliance Group's Payroll Manager and Benefits Manager to ensure overall customer service delivery and satisfaction goals are met.--Accept instruction from the Payroll Manager as necessary to complete client payroll processes as a whole and the Benefits Manager for benefits updates, compliance, and application. 5.------------Utilize and review Client Care Forms (CCF's) on a regular and consistent basis. 6.------------Participate in departmental and all staff meetings; Report to work at the designated location; regular attendance is required. Qualifications and Education RequirementsAbility to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats.Successfully and consistently demonstrate the ability to work within a fast-paced environment while maintaining data integrity and organize priorities effectively.Solid understanding of payroll and benefits transactions.Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to think analytically.Must be able to work well independently as well as in a team environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with willingness to become familiar in The Alliance Group's technology platforms.Basic knowledge of Wage and Hour laws.Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in related field or a minimum of 3 years payroll processing and benefits administration experience.Payroll certification encouraged.Ability to meet physical demands of the job (not limited to): Frequent sitting, computer use, and telephone use with or without reasonable accommodation.
