Programmer/Analyst II GENERAL REQUISITION INFORMATION
Vaccination Requirement The University of Nebraska Medicine Center
( UNMC ) requires COVID -19 vaccinations for all students, staff,
and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they
have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a
recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a
pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means
having received one dose of a single dose COVID -19 vaccine
(Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID -19
vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).
As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC , you will be/are
required to comply with the UNMC's vaccination protocol.
Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5)
days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full
vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption.
Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial
vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date
to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires,
rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical
or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from
exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance
with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with
no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be
separated.

Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics/Biomedical,
Informatics and/or Clinical Informatics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ---Experience Developing web
interfaces using on Java based front end technologies (Spring MVC ,
JSF and others) and integrating with backend databases.
---Experience with the following operating systems (Windows, and
Linux).
---Good analytical and problem solving skills.
---Good programming skills in database design and development, and
software development.
---Good communication skills for providing documentation to support
personnel, customers, and managers.
---Must have knowledge of the JEE /J2EE standard to include JDBC ,
and Web Services.
---Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action.
---Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem
activities for tracking purposes.
---Develops complex data retrieval queries and optimizes data
queries within programs for performance and maintainability.
---Determines data to collect and analyzes information as
appropriate.
Preferred Education: Master's degree If any degree/training is
preferred, please specify the type: Computer Science, Information
Systems, Bioinformatics/Biomedical, Informatics and/or Clinical
Informatics
Preferred Experience: ---Working experience with Oracle and SQL
Server, and SQL Developer, SQLPlus, and other database tools.
---Working experience with Application and Web Servers like JBoss,
Apache Tomcat servers, or similar class of server systems.
---Working experience with PHP /Zope framework, HTML5, JavaScript,
JSP and JSF .
---Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, version control
systems like GitHub, and SVN , and Eclipse IDE framework.
---Familiarity with Health Care related database platforms is a
plus.
---Familiarity with Electronic Health Record Systems ( EPIC ) or
clinical information system is a plus.
