The Military Supervisor-in-Training (MSiT) program is a 52-week training program geared toward giving junior military leaders (E-4 and above) training into our operations environment. This program will equip the trainee with the required skills, judgement, and know-how of being an effective and responsible leader in a manufacturing environment. Upon completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to be promoted into a full time Production Supervisor role at any of our 40+ manufacturing locations nationwide. For more information visit: ********************************* Core Responsibilities Participation in Assigned Operations Rotation - Work in different departments within a specific function to gain perspective, including food safety, quality assurance, engineering, human resources, warehousing, and plant operations. - Complete assigned tasks relevant to the assigned training plan. - Perform walks and visual inspections of Production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary. - Maintain adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly. - Work with the Operations Managers and/or Superintendents/Supervisors to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, methods of calculations, typical problem areas and methods for corrections and improvement. Administrative Documentation and Organization - Ensure training and documentation is maintained with applicable laws and regulations. - Report progress of assigned objectives to the Military Training Program Manager. - Work with assigned mentor to establish career goals and project next steps of the rotation. Special Projects and Assignments - Participate in special projects and initiatives to work on independently and present findings to plant management and/or corporate management as needed. - Travel for corporate trainings and to gain exposure to operations at other facilities, as applicable. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required. - Bachelor's degree; preferred. - A minimum of three (3) years of military experience with a rank of E-4 or above, required. - Actively transitioning from the U.S. Military, or transitioned no more than one year prior to program start date (or in active reserve or guard status). - Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem solving skills. - Good planning and priority setting skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships. - May be required to work long hours and weekends. - Must be able to travel up to 20%. - Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. - Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities - Provides training and guidance to employees on the Production Floor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. - Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area. - Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. - Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
