Job Summary / Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Health Care Provider, responsible for
the delivery of general patient care that promotes the safety and
well-being of all patients, by following established standards and
procedures. Accurately performs preliminary physical tests such as:
blood pressure, height/weight, temperature, pulse/respirations and
other measures as directed by established clinical protocols.
Assist with basic patient care, helping patients with activities of
daily living and collaborates with other clinic staff to ensure
effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement
of desired patient outcomes.
Assists with general patient care following established clinic
Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by
completing intake duties such as documenting the patient's reason
for visit, obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing
documented drug allergies, asking if patient taking medications
listed in EMR, and completing appropriate screening
Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely
Ensures required safety checklists and quality controls are
completed and action taken if indicated.
Performs other duties assigned within Medical Support Assistant
Job Requirements / Qualifications
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required &
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of State Health Department approved
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program required.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
