Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:--- Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL & MySQL software, implement monitoring and alerting, implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL performance tuning and assist in business process integration with various data sources.--- Fulfills user requests ranging from access control, backup, restore, refresh to non-production to performance tuning.--- Migrate PostgreSQL databases as part of datacenter consolidation project.--- Provides support and administration of MongoDB, MySQL, MariaDB & PostgreSQL.--- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines and Database/Schema as Code tools and approaches.--- Strong SQL for database query and data updates in Production--- Analyze database changes requested by the agile development teams for impacts to database designs, naming standards, design standards, data conversions, and documentation.--- Experience analyzing and tuning queries to improve query performance.--- Hands-on experience with scripting to automate database changes/baselines including bash, Ansible, and Terraform.--- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with customers and other team members.Desired Skills--- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL & MySQL Database Administration/ Engineering.--- Experience with data center migration is required--- Experience with large enterprise solutions including but not limited to high availability, disaster recovery, and data management.--- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of cloud database offerings (e.g. RDS, Cosmos)--- Experience with transforming data from Legacy databases into archival data stores.--- Experience with DB migrations--- Experience with Saltstack, Ansible &/or Terraform for centralized DB cluster builds and maintenance.--- Experience with any other Open Source DB technologies like MongoDB, Cassandra, MariaDB is a plus.--- Has strong Python programming skill and be able to develop dba applications for system automation and integration.PDS Tech, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
