  • FSA Role Description: Membership Development Specialist This position will be a blend of remote, travel, and in-office work in 19 counties in Northeast Nebraska. This role is accountable for implementing year-round membership development by initiating and cultivating connections with prospective girl and adult members (leads). The Membership Development Specialist requires an individual to be on the ground in communities, to increase visibility and access to Girl Scouts. This can be a home based or office-based position in Columbus or a neighboring community. Essential Duties: 1. Design and/or implement a comprehensive plan for girl and adult membership growth in targeted areas. Done in conjunction with a team of other Membership Development Specialists and the Membership Recruitment Manager. The membership plan is created using provided tools for researching market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information to create a targeted area to work in. 2. Implements membership plan to meet goals. Plan will include and is not limited to: in-person meetings, hosting events for prospective members, presentations, networking opportunities, and attending community events. 3. Cultivate community relationships to positively impact membership growth. Relationships should include, but are not limited to: community leaders, organizations (particularly youth serving), corporations, schools, educators, and faith-based institutions. 4. Work cross-functionally with other departments to create success in increasing Girl Scout memberships as well as other council goals. Qualifications: -- Belief in the values and mission of Girl Scouts -- A member or willing to become a member of the Girl Scouts -- Some evenings and weekends required -- Willing to travel 75-85% of the time within Northeastern Nebraska (very limited overnights) -- Ability to work positively and collaboratively in a team environment as well as be self-directed -- Familiar with the communities in Northeast Nebraska -- Demonstrated ability to close sales or in recruitment -- Detail oriented with time management skills preferred -- Ability to work with diverse communities -- Excellent oral and written communication skills -- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite -- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience -- Clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Girl Scouts insurance policy -- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Job Type: Full-time
