$22/hr PLUS $2/hr shift differential SummaryThis is an individual
contributor position responsible for monitoring galvanizing
equipment and fluids to ensure safe and proper galvanizing
operation for high quality galvanized products. The Acid
Reclamation Systems Operator A (ARS Operator A) adjusts flow rates
to provide maximum output of iron and zinc sulfate crystals. You is
also responsible for leveling and changing crystal bags and filters
and for performing minor maintenance to the galvanizing process
tanks. The ARS A Operator will add acid and maintain the fluid
levels and the temperatures in the galvanizing process tanks. You
will operate the molten zinc recovery (MZR) machine under the
direction of the others and monitoring the reverse osmosis (RO)
system. Additional responsibilities include assisting with loading
the crystal trailer, washing down the process tanks, maintaining
the dryer area and the areas under the process tanks, assisting in
general plant clean up and housekeeping, and working safely with
the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes
the ability to complete a respirator fit test per OSHA standards
which requires you to trim or remove facial hair that interferes
with the seal of the respirator.Essential Functions:
- Monitor galvanized equipment and fluids, to adjust flow
rates
- Add acid and maintain fluid levels and temperatures in the
galvanizing processing tanks
- Add nickel and albumin to the kettle, and to monitor the RO
system
- Operate screwdrivers, wrenches, and cutting tools to perform
minor maintenance on the galvanizing process tanks
- Operate forklift
- Maintain and complete accurate logs
- Must work in a safe and conscientious manner, pay constant
attention to details
- Communicate problems or need to departmental

- Help operate the MZR machine
- Support Material Handler responsibilities
- Support general plant clean up and housekeeping
- Must be a person of passion who has the desire to excel and
deliver
- You will report to the Coatings Maintenance ManagerRequired
Qualifications:
- No Degree
- No (0) to one (1) year of relevant experience
- Work with exposure to sulfuric acid
- Operate a forklift, use hand tools, electrical drills, saws,
and pneumatic tools
- Work 1 or more shifts of overtime per week
- Wear a respirator for extended periods of time and other
required Personal Protective Equipment for the production
facility
- Perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting,
multiplying, and dividing
- Read and interpret simple charts, tables, flow diagrams, and
troubleshooting guides
- The ability to stand and walk for up to 95% of the shift
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, with most frequent
lift of up to 20 pounds
- Communicate and work with coworkers
- Pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
- High awareness for safety, hazardous substances and know
employee responsibility for chemical safetyHighly Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and
PowerPoint
- One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication
environment
- One (1) year of experience operating hand and power tools
- One (1) year of experience with overhead crane operations
