Position Highlights: Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications
for a talented individual to join us as a Lead Histotechnologist.
This role will be great for someone that has a passion for lab and
great customer service for our patients we serve. This specific
position will work in Omaha, NE. We partner with our physicians,
nurses and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious
Medicine and Extraordinary Care available in the region. We are

- Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / Salaried-Exempt
role)
- Monday - Friday, First shift; some weekends possible

and prepare patient tissue for analysis according to department
procedures using a wide range and depth of technical knowledge.
Perform routine histological techniques, histochemical and enzyme
histochemical reactions. Lead assigned staff by providing technical
support and work direction in the histology area. Support
continuous quality improvement of services in assigned area to
ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards and
provide feedback to assigned staff on their performance.Required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years experience in anatomic pathology with
histopathological processes and tissue recognition required.
- Bachelor of science or successful completion of a formally
recognized histology technique training program required.
- Education and training equivalent to 120 semester hours from an
accredited institution that includes either 24 semester hours of
science courses that include i) 6 semester hours of chemistry ii) 6
semester hours of biology iii) 12 semester hours of chemistry,
biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination (One
year of related experience equals one year of education)
required.
- Certified as a Histotechnologist by the American Society of
Clinical Pathologists Histotechnologist HTL)ASCP)
required.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a work group preferred. Nebraska Medicine is
