Responsibilities
OPPDs Operations Department is looking for a Transmission System
Operator to join their team! The Transmission System Operator (TSO)
has the responsibility and authority to take or direct timely and
appropriate real-time actions to maintain the integrity of the
District's Transmission System under both normal and emergency
conditions consistent with all NERC Interchange and Transmission
Operator standards, SPP related criteria and procedures, and OPPD's
company specific policies and procedures. The TSO has the authority
to take or direct timely and appropriate real-time actions,
including the shedding of firm load, to prevent or alleviate System
Operating Limit or Interconnection Reliability Operating Limit
violations. The TSO is responsible for the safe and reliable
operation of OPPD's electric system by monitoring and coordinating
the day-to-day operation of the Bulk Power System. The TSO shall
also prepare or participate in the preparation of planned or
scheduled transmission outages and coordinate switching operations
performed on the Bulk Power System to ensure maximum continuity of
electric service during scheduled outages. Specific
accountabilities of this role include: Direct andensure the safe,
reliable operation of the T&D System by analyzing and
efficiently responding to electric system disturbances and
interruptions to minimize quantity and duration of customer
outage.
