Assists with the coordination of services for children placed in
foster care and supervision of Foster Family Services staff. This
position also analyzes and reports on program data and ensures
compliance with all regulatory and program standards.$3000 Hiring
Bonus! POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor of Foster Family Services
assists with the coordination of services for children placed in
foster care and supervision of Foster Family Services staff. This
position also analyzes and reports on program data and ensures
compliance with all regulatory and program standards. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Coordinates services for children placed in Foster Care.
- Develops and implements procedures for the program and
coordinates program activities.
- Coordinates child referrals, intakes, and placement.
- Provides input on Foster Parent selection.
- Coordinates training, supervision, consultation, and evaluation
of Foster Parents.
- Coordinates, guides, and monitors family evaluation and service
plans.
- Supervises, administers, monitors, and evaluates established
procedures for the program and develops new approaches for
intervention as needed.
- Assists in providing and reviewing necessary communication and
documentation for families, agencies, courts, and interested
parties to discuss child and family progress in meeting goals.
- Provides direction for and reviews all situations of discharge
of youth from the program.
- Assists in supervision and support to FFS staff; may recruit,
train, or supervise program staff and volunteers.
- Compiles, analyzes, and reports program data.
- Ensures compliance with contractual, regulatory, program, and
accrediting body standards.
- Meets with families and children at various locations; utilizes
own vehicle to travel to work destinations and to transport youth
as authorized.
- May be trained to become a certified Common Sense Parenting
Instructor and as a certified instructor may be asked to conduct
Common Sense Parenting (CSP) Courses at designated locations as
assigned.
- Serves as a role model in carrying out the Father Flanagan's
Boys' Home mission.
- Directs all activities towards the fulfillment of the Boys Town
mission
- Directs all actions to reflect the values and principles of
Boys Town
- Establishes and maintains an environment that encourages
teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior
- Maintains regular, reliable and predictable attendance
- Supports other members of the management team and their work
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care
and the child welfare system; thorough understanding of Federal,
State, Local, and Council on Accreditation (COA) standards.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and
with external business contacts in an articulate, professional
manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to build and sustain trust to facilitate successful,
professional relationships.
- Ability to successfully lead a team of associates.
- Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining
procedural and regulatory integrity.
- Strong knowledge of Boys Town model and fidelity of care.
- Ability to function independently and have flexibility,
personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with
children and families, staff, and support agencies.
- Advanced critical-thinking and problem-solving skills,
including ability to make assessments and use sound judgment.
- Ability to work with confrontational clients and their
families. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field; Master's
degree preferred. NOTE: Education and experience requirements may
be higher based on Affiliate Site location, Local contracts, and
Federal/State contract requirements.
- Completed LSWA or higher within the first 6 months of
employment.
- 2 to 3 years of experience including working with children and
families; management and supervisory experience is preferred;
experience working with children and families in community-based
programs or Boys Town Programs preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving
record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check.
Must have the ability to provide own transportation (mileage
reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job. Must meet
auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or
State and Local laws.
- This position may require flexible hours, including evenings
and weekends. This position is on-call (continuously or
rotationally) to provide support. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND
EQUIPMENT USAGE: Reasonably expected to have and maintain
sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during
stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered
on the job without compromising their health and well-being or that
of their fellow employees, youth, or families. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from
highly stressful and potentially aggressive (physical
interventions, escorts, etc.) to casual and leisurely, in both
indoor and outdoor settings. While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is subject to outside weather conditions and
maybe required to visit homes with substandard living conditions
