Solution Architect is responsible for developing end-to-end
technology solution architectures for Qantas Group Technology
projects. They lead the development of project solutions and the
navigation through architectural stage gates while taking ownership
of project solutions ensuring they align with Enterprise and Domain
strategies.Broader responsibilities will include owning the
technical engagement and ultimate success around specific
implementation of projects and developing a deep understanding and
specific expertise of technologies as well as a broad know-how
around how applications and services operate.The core
responsibilities of this role will be:
- Lead the technical design processes, workshops ensuring
stakeholder coordination
- Design end-to-end technology solutions for projects to meet
specific business requirements
- Provide technical expertise to project teams and external
vendors for end-to-end solutions, ensuring all facets of the
designs and technologies are integrated
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships, networks and
alliances with internal clients, external providers and
suppliers
- The long-term success, viability and ROI for the solutions
depend upon well architected solutionsWhat you will bring to the
role:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
- TOGAF 9 Certificate
- Extensive experience in enterprise scale solution delivery
- Strategic business acumen with understanding of organisation
strategy and ability to design technology to deliver that
strategy
- Proven ability to complete and run to schedule, manage risk and
within budget
- Strong demonstrated track record as a Solution Architect
- Experience in Solution/System architecture
- Experience in agile and traditional methodologies
- Experience with Cloud technology
- Enterprise Application Integration and/or Service Oriented
Architecture
- Proven experience in working with stakeholders
- Strong communication skills are essential
- Team player with experience leading and collaborating across
teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills demonstrating
outside-the-box problem solving skills
- Experience with design of solution requirements for a range of
business areas
- Technical mastery in at least two technology areas relevant to
the airline businessAdditional experience and skills:We have a
number of open Solution Architect roles. Whilst we value
versatility and cross-skilling, if you have existing aviation
experience or deep experience in one or more of the below areas
then that is also considered advantageous:Mobile Solution
Architect:
- Experience with front-end mobile app development, especially
Swift, React native or progressive web app technologies
- Experience with mobile app non-functionals such as SSO, API
integration, offline sync, accessibility, version control, web app
analytics and performance optimisation
- Experience in UI/UX design and working with end users and
business stakeholdersPayroll Solution Architect:
- Experience with Payroll, Rostering, Award Interpretation and
Work Force Management solution architecture, design and delivery
oversight
- Experience with data migration, restoration and recovery
solutions
- Experience with Workday processes, integration and data
migration is desirablePayments & Personalisation Solution
Architect:
- Experience with Payments, Collections and Settlements
- Experience in architecting solutions related to new payment
technologies, NPP, payment orchestration and payment service
provider integrations
- Sound understanding of PCI handling in complex integrated
application environments
- Experience in technology transformation and data migration
initiativesIntegration and Automation Solution Architect:
- Experience with various integration patterns and
technology
- Experience using or administering API gateways, micro-services,
Kafka streaming platforms, Apache Airflow
- Experience with Blue Prism or other robotic process automation
