Responsibilities
Department/Business Unit: P rotection and Automation Engineering
/Utility Operations Location: Elkhorn Service Center, Elkhorn, NE
(Remote Working Available) Duration/Work Term: May 2023 December
2023 (Summer/Fall Term) Work Schedule: 40 hours/week: 8 hours/day,
5 days/week Remote Work: We are officially working remotely but we
would expect the Co-Op to be able to meet at the office as many
days as is necessary to develop/train with other engineers. Pay:
$21.69/hour with paid holidays Job Responsibilities: As part of the
Protection and Automation Engineering Department, the co-op will
have the opportunity to complete assignments with hands-on and
in-depth experiences in the three phase power system engineering
aspects of electric utility system protection and automation
design, configuration, maintenance, and operation. The co-op will
be exposed to automation and protection system design,
configuration, and implementation, and operation including relay
coordination, power system modeling, intelligent device
integration, power system event analysis, and electric system
operation support. Specific activities may include performing
in-depth engineering calculations, setting and configuration
development, print review, modeling software, and other related
duties and activities as assigned by the manager or engineers.
