Job Description:
POSITION TITLE : BUILDING, GROUNDS & EQUIPMENT (BG&E) SENIOR
BUILDING
Senior building maintenance reports to the facility maintenance
manager and is responsible for providing facility maintenance and
repairs at all Metro facilities, including bus stations, shelters,
and stops.
Wage: Starting Wage: $27.01
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts and as needed.
Union: Transport Workers Union, Local 223
FLSA: Non-Exempt
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five (5) years of supervisory or lead experience in
most or all of the following: facility maintenance, general
commercial/industrial building carpentry, general plumbing,
grounds, locksmith, mechanical, and electrical systems repair.
- Ability to organize, monitor, and maintain quality control
standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong interpersonal
skills
- Must possess or have the ability to pass company-provided CDL
training within 90 days.
- Must maintain a Commercial Driver s License and a driving
record that meets insurance standards throughout the duration of
employment.
- OSHA, HVAC, and Electrical certification preferred.
- Able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, back
screen, drug screen, and complete background check
- Possess basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft
Word & Excel
- Possess good attendance and job performance record
- Ability to perform, but not limited to, heavy lifting up to 75
lbs., climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting and long periods of
standing. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the coordination of day-to-day operations of
BG&E staff and facility, grounds, equipment maintenance.
Participate in the day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
- Regular and predictable attendance and performance of essential
job functions.
- Provides day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain electrical, mechanical, and air handling systems.
- Maintain the facility in a safe operational condition.
- Operation and maintenance of facility boilers, plumbing,
carpentry, chillers, and cooling tower.
- Operate snow removal, forklift, and construction equipment
during all environmental conditions.
- Report and respond to emergency calls before, during, and after
regular business hours.
- Read and interpret label directions and understand
instructions, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Perform work at heights up to 25 , on or off scaffolding,
ladders, or portable lifts.
- Assist Metro s compliance with all environmental, safety and
health regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
