Other duties may be assigned.Duties* Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product use, and credit terms.* Recommend products and solutions based on customers' needs and interests.* Estimate or quote prices and delivery dates.* Consult with clients after sales to provide ongoing support.* Contact manufacturers regarding sales and delivery details.* Set up appointments for customers with outsides sales representatives.* Reach out to existing customers to solicit orders and general follow up.* Call potential customers and actively sell Walling Company products and services.* Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts to create brand loyalty.* Monitor inventories of products or materials.* Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet web sites, and other sources.* Develop territory sales plan and work to meet and exceed sales goals.Job Qualifications* 2 years+ of sales experience in an industrial or manufacturing industry.* Outstanding communication skills.* Hands on plant or facility work experience is a plus.* Previous or current experience in Plant Management or Maintenance Management is a plus.* A strong mechanical aptitude.* A four-year degree is preferred, but not required.* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with inside industrial equipment sales.Skills & Abilities* Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.* Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.* Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.* Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.* Persuasion - Persuading others to change their minds or behavior to buy a product.* Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.* Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Competencies in Order to Perform the Job* Selling or influencing others* Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.* Excellent problem-solving skills.* Ability to use a multiline phone system while answering and making calls efficiently.* Great Customer Service Skills.* Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities.* Quality and Quantity - Monitors own work to ensure quality and strives to increase productivity.* Work with external customers.* Excellent verbal and written communication skillsLanguage SkillsAbility to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Individuals should also be familiar with Outlook.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
