This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Responsibilities include: Assisting with basic health care needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Recording vital signs and providing psychosocial support. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring and repositioning using proper techniques. Facilitating a positive dining experience by assisting with meals and snacks. Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicating any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Providing housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas. Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs. Participating in departmental committees and task forces as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum age of 16 years. Previous experience as a nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or obtain certification within four months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program. Completion of annual competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum of 12 hours required annually). For applicable states, certification and registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be required. This position may require a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license, depending on facility needs.
