Waste Connections, a leader in integrated waste services, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dedicated team. This role is pivotal in helping us achieve our mission of providing comprehensive waste management services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner, ensuring the proper handling and disposal of waste, and supporting our environmental sustainability efforts. Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, and excavators in a safe and efficient manner. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of equipment. Coordinate with other team members to ensure all operations are executed in accordance with safety protocols. Manage waste disposal efficiently according to company policies and environmental regulations. Participate in routine maintenance and report any mechanical or safety issues to the maintenance team. Assist in the training of new staff as needed. Maintain inventory records of materials and equipment used. Comply with all safety, health, and environmental procedures. Proven ability to operate heavy equipment. Strong understanding of the mechanics and maintenance of heavy equipment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow safety guidelines and company policies at all times. Attention to detail and precision in operating machinery. Certifications or training in heavy equipment operation highly beneficial.
