We are seeking an individual with technical knowledge of insurance policies and coverages, including thorough knowledge of claim handling, to join our Personal Lines- Liability West team as a Claims Technical Advisor.

This position has the potential to work remotely from home based on location.What You'll Do:As the Claims Technical Advisor, you'll provide exceptional guidance and direction to the Non-Standard Auto Claims unit, helping Sentry maintain its level of standards, and ensure a high level of customer service is provided to our policyholders and claimants. In addition, you'll:

• Continuously review pending claims for quality claim handling
• Authorize settlements for claims exceeding individual settlement limits
• Evaluate work of assigned claims staff to assure adherence to claim standards and to improve overall file quality
• Provide ongoing feedback to CSC leadership on the claims technical abilities and developmental opportunities for assigned staff
• Provide overall claims technical and file guidance and actively participate in the training on new claims associates
• Participate in file review sessions to determine direction and monitoring of file progression through resolution
• Develop the claims technical skills of assigned claims associates as part of their assigned staff's overall professional and individual development
• Ensure claims technology solutions and programs are utilized properly and that the capturing of required claims data is timely, accurate, and completeWhat it Takes:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Professional designations such as the CPCU highly desired
  • 5-8 years of related work experience in Auto Casualty, Bodily Injury, Litigation
  • Previous experience in claim handling; including investigations and settlements
  • Analytical ability to make appropriate decisions
  • Managerial/supervisory experience and/or training beneficial
  • Strong human relations and communications skills
